After a touching ceremony at St George’s, Hanover Square, it was time for some more wedding photography at the Lansdowne Club in Mayfair. Wedding Photographer at the Lansdowne Club

One of the interesting comments I often hear from couples during my wedding visits is

“The photographer at our friends wedding was really loud and did a lot of shouting”

I have to say this isn’t my preferred approach. Although your photography is an important part of your wedding, it shouldn’t take over from you or your guests enjoyment of the day. Your photographer should be discrete, thorough, polite and blend into the background.

Admittedly some gentle ‘direction’ is needed for the larger group and family shots. Getting 70 people into position and all looking at the camera at the same time can be challenging. Preparation and speed are key. I advise clients to let their guests know when they will be required for photographs. I generally allow 20-30 minutes for 5 family shots, including 1 shot of the entire wedding party, depending on size.

My style and approach are based on capturing happy, spontaneous moments with the minimum of disruption to your day. Photographers should be seen and not heard!
